Travel time outside the greater Salt Lake City metropolitan area is calculated at the hourly rate, door-to-door; i.e., from the time I leave my office until I return, with a cap of $2,000 per day. For example, conducting a polygraph examination in which there is one day of travel time each way typically costs $6,000, as the length of the exam is open ended and the return travel should not be scheduled for the day of the exam. Air travel is business class where not prohibited by government regulation. There is no charge for travel time within the Salt Lake City metropolitan area.
Expenses: All out of pocket expenses are the responsibility of the requestor. These normally consist of travel, hotel, and the standard government per diem rate for meals. |
